Sales and Use Tax Rate for the City is Increasing
The voters passed a Sales and Use Tax Increase at the May 2008 election. This increase becomes effective on July 1, 2008. The tax increase will fund cultural and recreational improvement projects in the City. The Sales and Use Tax Rate prior to July 1st the City of Lone Tree tax rate is 1.5% (the total tax rate including State, County and Special Districts is either 6.5% or 6.6%). Effective July 1, 2008 the rate will increase to 1.8125% (total tax rate will be including State, County and Special Districts either 6.8125% or 6.9125%). [Additional info...]

Douglas County Housing Partnership Foreclosure Mediation Program to Expand
New funds to provide foreclosure counseling for nearly 225 residential mortgage holders by Dec. 31, 2008 Through a $75,000 grant from NeighborWorks and administered by the Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA), the Douglas County Housing Partnership (DCHP), will now have the resources to provide foreclosure counseling services to an additional 225 residential mortgage holders who are in various stages of foreclosure. Sales Tax Class
The City is currently offering two classes; one general and one specific for medical services. The classes are held at the City Administrative Offices, 9220 Kimmer Drive, Suite 100. To register and for more information contact Tracy Martinez at 303-708-1818 ext.145. Detective Todd Pachello Named Officer of the Year 2007
During calendar year 2007, the Detective Todd Pachello performed his duties in a manner as to bring great respect and admiration to him, the Lone Tree Police Department and the City of Lone Tree. As a result of this outstanding professional conduct Detective Todd Pachello has been nominated by his peers as the Lone Tree Police Officer of the Year.
In reviewing the nominations received the following terms were used to describe Detective Pachello: A determined tenacity in the way he pursues leads, quality driver training instructor, assists in establishing procedures for photography and evidence, always ready to assist his fellow officer, committed to excellence, unique proactive policing style, won’t take the easy way out, committed to apprehending criminals and recovering property and last but not least one of a kind.

These are the qualities of a police officer who serves his community with pride and integrity.

Detective Pachello is credited with tirelessly investigating some of the most serious crimes that occurred in the city of Lone tree in 2007. His work lead to the arrest and conviction of several criminal rings that targeted the City of Lone Tree and the Denver Metro area.

Community policing is important to any law enforcement agency but to the Lone Tree Police Department it is our heart and soul.

Detective Pachello has demonstrated through his actions and deeds that he is a most deserving candidate for this award and the recognition of his peers. Our congratulations and heartfelt thanks go out to Detective Pachello.

Willow Creek Outfall Systems Planning Study
The City of Lone Tree, in partnership with The City of Greenwood Village, Douglas County, Urban Drainage and Flood Control District, Southeast Metro Stormwater Authority and South Suburban Parks and Recreation, is sponsoring an Outfall Systems Planning Study (OSP) for Willow Creek, Little Dry Creek and Greenwood Gulch Watersheds. Information regarding the OSP, along with opportunity for Citizen Input and Questions are available on the Project Website.
