The Building Division handles building permits and inspections in the City of Lone Tree. Business hours are 7AM-4PM. All Building services can be performed online in our permitting portal or via the phone, and all inspections are done on-site and in-person.

Call the Inspection Line to schedule an inspection at (303)-225-4941. Please note that the Inspection Line directs you to a voicemail inbox, and not a live person. If you leave a message by midnight your inspection will be scheduled for the next business day. All Building Inspections can only be scheduled for the next business day. Inspections can also be scheduled in our permitting portal.
Permit applications are only accepted electronically. Note that Plan Review fees are due at time of application submittal.
The City of Lone Tree requires a Business License if you are engaged in business in the City of Lone Tree. Our Finance Department does require anyone performing work in the City to apply for a Business License to ensure sales tax is not collected that should be remitted to the City.
For all parties included on a permit, a valid Business license is required before we can issue a permit.
The Lone Tree Building Division does not issue or require contractor licenses.
All exterior alterations to businesses and multi-family developments require approval by the City of Lone Tree. Please contact the Planning Division prior to making any such improvements, 303.708.1818.
It is unlawful for any exterior construction to occur between the hours of 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. on Monday through Friday and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, Sunday and State legal holidays.
It is unlawful for any interior construction to occur between the hours of 9:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.
Please control the litter and trash at your project to prevent the wind from carrying it onto neighboring properties.
