Annually the Lone Tree Arts Commission recommends up to $40,000 in grant funding to organizations for the purpose of bringing high-quality semi-professional and professional performances, events, and exhibits to complement current programming at the Lone Tree Arts Center. The Lone Tree Arts Commission offers Performance Arts Grants with the intention to increase the diversity of excellent performing arts experiences, events and exhibits available to South Denver-Metro residents.
Grants will be awarded to metro-Denver area 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations whose programming:
is artistically excellent;
represents a diversity of genres;
works well in the performing spaces available;
reflects sound business management; and
contributes to a dynamic cultural environment in the City of Lone Tree.
The intent of these grants is to help organizations defray the expenses of renting the Arts Center facilities for their performances.
Organizations who rent the Arts Center for their performances keep the ticket sales revenue they generate. Please consult the Arts Center website, www.lonetreeartscenter.org, for information about rental rates.
The intent of these grants is also to provide quality cultural programming to schools via in-school perfromances and projects.
These grants will be reviewed by City staff and the Arts Commission, and then recommended to City Council for approval, subject to applicable guidelines.
Grant Procedures and an Application will be available in fall 2013.
