A night photo of a road covered in running water due to a waterline break. A police vehicle with emergency lights can be seen in the background.

Shortly after 6:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, emergency services and the City of Lone Tree Public Works department responded to a waterline break on Yosemite Street and Kimmer Drive. This incident is related to the work Southgate performed on the waterline during summer 2023. Water was restored to the area later that evening.

1/24/23 UPDATE:
Contractors have completed the waterline repairs and the repaving of Yosemite Street. Both northbound and southbound lanes are fully open. Southgate Water & Sanitation Districts will need to intermittently close a single lane of traffic at times over the next few days to perform maintenance of the repaired waterline.

1/23/23 UPDATE:
The pipe has been repaired and the contractor has begun the work of repaving the road. Because asphalt plants are not in operation this time of year, this part of the road will receive a temporary fix and will be properly re-paved in the spring. We will have more information regarding a timeline for this work in the coming months.

1/22/23:
Crews from City of Lone Tree Public Works and Southgate Water & Sanitation Districts continue to address damage caused by the waterline break.

During this time, northbound lanes are closed beginning at Lone Tree Parkway. The Taos community is limited to right turn in, right turn out only at Yosemite. Please use Park Meadows Drive between Lincoln Avenue and Yosemite Street during this time.

If you or your business were impacted by the waterline break, or you have general questions regarding your water, please contact Southgate Water & Sanitation Districts at 303-779-0261.
