Join us for the biggest event of the year, 4th of July! There’s nothing quite like Independence Day in Lone Tree, but it’s not the same without you!

9 a.m: 4th of July Family Fun Ride & Stroll
Starting at Lone Tree Elementary and ending at Prairie Sky Park. This one is for the whole family so come decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, strollers, unicycles, or just yourself and join us as we make our way down the Willow Creek Trail, on this 1-mile trek.

10 a.m. to 1 p.m: Family Fun Park
Enjoy inflatables, games, live entertainment, food trucks, and more at Prairie Sky Park. 

6 p.m: Party in the Park at Prairie Sky Opens
This is also when shuttle service begins.

7 p.m: Live music from Jenny Shawhan
At Prairie Sky Park.

8 p.m: Live music from Uptown Funk: Tribute to Bruno Mars
At Prairie Sky Park.

9:30 p.m: Fireworks
Visible from Prairie Sky Park and many other spots in Lone Tree

Family Fun Ride & Stroll

Starting at 9am at Lone Tre Elementary, ending at Prarie Sky Park.

We start the day with the 4th of July Family Fun Ride & Stroll. This one is for the whole family so come decorate your bikes, scooters, wagons, strollers, unicycles, or just yourself and join us as we make our way down the Willow Creek Trail, on this 1-mile trek. This is a great way to get out and enjoy some of our beautiful spaces with the family at your own pace. We encourage those with small children under 6 to push or pull their little ones. We will begin at Lone Tree Elementary where we will gather to decorate; complimentary decorating kits will be available; and make our way to Prairie Sky Park where the Family Fun Park awaits! No golf carts, please!

9 – 9:25 a.m: Decorate at Lone Tree Elementary

9:25 a.m: Line-up

9:30 a.m: Ride/Stroll to Praire Sky Park begins

Family Fun Park

Starting at 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
at Prairie Sky Park.

Pre-registration is CLOSED for the Family Fun Park. Enjoy a variety of inflatables, interactive activities, live entertainment, and food trucks! This is a FREE event to attend, however, some items inside the park may have a fee.

Party in the Park at Prairie Sky

The park opens at 6 p.m. Enjoy live music & entertainment before the fireworks start at 9:30 p.m.

After everyone has filled their bellies from all the backyard barbecues, we invite you to join us for a Party in the Park at Prairie Sky.

Enjoy acoustic tunes from Jenny Shawhan at 7 p.m., then get ready for a high energy show from headliner, Uptown Funk at 8 p.m.  Savory and dessert food trucks will be onsite. We encourage you to bring your blankets, camping chairs, coolers, outdoor games and mingle with your friends and neighbors as we prepare for the main event of the evening, fireworks!

At 9:30 p.m. we will cap off the night with a huge fireworks display that will fill the entire Lone Tree sky! 

Wristbands are not required for Party in the Park.

Fireworks

Starting at 9:30 p.m. the skies over Lone Tree will be the canvas for a dazzling, patriotic display that will fill the night with red, white and blue! 

Select from several viewing areas to take in the final event of the day with your loved ones, neighbors and friends. Choose the location that works best for you! 

Fireworks always pose the risk of being delayed or postponed due to wind or other conditions. Changes will be communicated on the City’s Facebook and Twitter pages.

Parking and Shuttle Details

Attending the Family Fun Ride & Stroll?  Parking will be available at the Lone Tree Elementary Lot for those wanting to drive over.  

Taking part in the Family Fun Park? Parking will be available at the main Lone Tree Rec Center Lot as well as ample street parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the park. A limited amount of Handicap Parking will be available at the Prairie Sky Lot, south of the ballfields off of Crossington Way. 

Joining us for the Party in the Park? Parking will be available at the main Lone Tree Rec Center Lot as well as some street parking in the neighborhoods surrounding the park.  There will be no public parking on Crossington Way, south of the park, due to a road closure. The Lone Tree Arts Center Lot will be used as the overflow lot. A limited amount of Handicap Parking will be available at the Prairie Sky Lot, south of the ballfields off of Crossington Way.

Don’t want to drive? Shuttle services will be provided by the Lone Tree Link from 6pm-10:30pm.  Pick-up locations will be at The Hub and the Lone Tree Arts Center.  Shuttles will run on a loop during this time, so please don’t use the app.

Event Guidelines at Prairie Sky

Acceptable: 

  • Lawn Chairs, Blanket, Tarps
  • Tents, Canopies, Umbrellas
  • Coolers
  • Plastic or Aluminum
  • Strollers or Wagons
  • Small portable propane grills

Unacceptable: 

  • NO GLASS
  • NO DOGS
  • NO SMOKING OF ANY KIND
  • NO FIREWORKS (including sparklers, firecrackers, & snap pops)
  • NO CHARCOAL GRILLS
  • NO DRONES
  • NO ILLEGAL DRUGS
