VIN Verification

General Information

The Lone Tree Police Department provides drop-in VIN inspections daily from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

VIN verifications are necessary if you have:

  • Moved to Colorado from another state
  • Purchased a vehicle from another state
  • Purchased a vehicle without a title
  • Any other similar circumstances

The vehicle must be available for inspection at the time of the VIN inspection and you must be able to provide proof of ownership, title or registration.

Inspection Location

Inspections are conducted at the Lone Tree Police Department located at 9220 Kimmer Drive. Enter the main entrance of the building. VIN Inspections can be requested at the Police counter.

Fees
  • This service is provided free to Lone Tree residents. If you do not live in the City of Lone Tree, the fee for this service is $10.
  • The Police Department is able to accept cash, check, or major credit cards.
