Board of Adjustment and Appeals

The Board of Adjustment and Appeals may grant zoning variances when requested and hear any appeals from administrative orders, requirement, decision or determination made by an administrative official charged with the enforcement of zoning. The Board is made up of five members. Three of those members are required to have experiences in the building trades, such as construction, architecture, fire protection, civil engineering or related legal experience. Two members will not be required to have specialized experience. This Board meets on an as-needed basis. Board Members are appointed by the City Council for a three-year term.

 

Apply to be on a Commission, Board or Committee

From now until December 1, we are accepting applications for 2025 appointments to all CBCs. Applications are collected annually and are kept on file for one year to fill any vacancies that may arise during that period. When a vacancy occurs, City Council will review the applications and invite selected individuals for interviews. Applications submitted when there are no openings will be considered when an opening occurs.
