Board of Adjustment and Appeals

The Board of Adjustment and Appeals ensures fairness and flexibility in how Lone Tree’s zoning and building regulations are applied. The Board reviews requests for variances under Sec, 16-26-70 of Chapter 16 (Zoning) of the Municipal Code and considers appeals related to administrative decisions made by City officials enforcing zoning or building regulations under Chapter 18.

In practice, this means the Board provides a careful, thoughtful review when unique situations arise that require exceptions or clarification. Whether it’s a request for a zoning variance or an appeal of a building official’s decision, the Board works to ensure each case is handled fairly and in the best interest of the community.

The Board is made up of five members appointed by City Council, each bringing experience and insight to maintain Lone Tree’s standards for quality, safety, and livability.

The Board meets on an as-needed basis. Meeting notices and agendas are posted in advance to keep the public informed and ensure transparency.
