Welcome to the Lone Tree Municipal Court
The Lone Tree Municipal Court is committed to the administration of justice with equality, fairness and integrity. Court staff strive to treat our customers with respect and dignity while upholding the organizational values established by the City of Lone Tree and the principles of the court of law. Court staff cannot provide legal advice, but they are happy to answer questions and provide information about court procedures.
The Lone Tree Municipal Court is a court of limited jurisdiction which serves the City of Lone Tree, Colorado. The types of cases heard in the Lone Tree Municipal Court include offenses related to traffic, misdemeanors, parking, animal and other municipal code violations. The Lone Tree Municipal Court has authority over violations of the Lone Tree Municipal Code. Some charges require an appearance in court, while others may be resolved by paying a fine. City ordinances, court rules and state statutes govern court proceedings.

Where to Attend Court in Person
Information on this site applies only to the Lone Tree Municipal Court. Some summonses written by Lone Tree Police Officers are written to Douglas County Court during which you will have to appear at the Douglas County Court. A Douglas County summons will begin with the letters “ELTC”. A Lone Tree summons will begin with “ELTM”. Please check your summons for the name and address of the court.
Court sessions are NOT held at Municipal Court Clerk’s Office.
This is the location to pay fines and fees, either by mail or in person. Payments can also be made online . Court staff is also available to answer questions at this location when court sessions are not being held.

Court sessions are held on designated Thursdays, the first Thursday of each month from 1:00 to 5:00 pm. The second and third Thursday of each month court is held from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm.
Staff is NOT present at this location when Court sessions are not being held. Mail is NOT accepted at this location. Please visit the Municipal Court Clerk’s Office at 9220 Kimmer Drive during normal business hours.
Observation of In-Custody Hearings
In accordance with state law, in-custody hearings are available for public observation via Zoom.
The Lone Tree Municipal Court does not maintain a regular schedule for these hearings. To obtain hearing dates, times, and meeting information, please contact the court:

Failure to Provide Proof of Insurance
If you were insured on the date and time you received your ticket, this charge may be dismissed.
You will need to provide a letter from your insurance company which states specifically that you were insured on the date and time of the ticket while driving the vehicle you were operating when you were ticketed.
The letter MUST be issued by your insurance company, printed on their letterhead, and signed by an agent or representative of the company. The Court Clerk’s office is not able to accept a copy of your insurance card, policy, statement or bill. You MUST obtain a letter.
