For more than two decades, the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra (LTSO) has brought the excitement and beauty of live orchestral music to the Lone Tree community and the surrounding South Metro region. Founded in 2000 by a group of local musicians, the orchestra has grown into a vibrant ensemble of more than 80 performers dedicated to sharing their love of music with audiences of all ages.
In its early years, the orchestra rehearsed and performed at the Cornerstone Baptist Church, presenting three concerts in its inaugural season. As the orchestra grew, it became an important part of the City’s cultural development, leading to the construction of the Lone Tree Arts Center.
Today, under the direction of founding Music Director Jacinda Bouton, the orchestra presents five concerts each season at the Lone Tree Arts Center, offering audiences the opportunity to experience high-quality symphonic music in Lone Tree. Performances regularly reach capacity audiences, reflecting the community’s enthusiasm for live music and the orchestra’s growing artistic reputation.
The orchestra is made up of musicians from across the region, representing a wide range of professions and backgrounds. The Lone Tree Symphony is further strengthened by professional principal string players who provide artistic leadership and mentorship. The LTSO rehearses every Thursday to perform a diverse repertoire that includes great orchestral masterworks, audience favorites, and new compositions. As part of its commitment to new music, the LTSO has launched a composition competition, with the winning composer receiving a $5,000 award and their work featured in the opening concert of the 2026 season.
A patron captured it best, “There’s something special about seeing neighbors and community members on stage creating such beautiful music together.” The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra is more than just a performing ensemble, it is a community-centered organization that brings musicians and audiences together through the shared experience of live orchestral performance.”
A Community Orchestra
One of the things that makes the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra unique is its role as a community orchestra. Musicians from across the region come together to perform challenging orchestral repertoire in a professional concert setting while pursuing careers in many different fields outside of music.
This shared passion for music creates a special connection between performers and audiences. Concertgoers often recognize their neighbors, teachers, and community members on stage. “Being part of the Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra is more than just playing music – it’s about being part of a community that shares a passion for bringing music to others,” said Lisa Fugit, LTSO President and Lone Tree resident.
Performing at the Lone Tree Arts Center allows the orchestra to present concerts in one of the region’s premier cultural venues while maintaining affordable ticket prices that make live symphonic music accessible to families, students, and music lovers throughout the community.
Inspiring the Next Generation of Musicians
Education and mentorship are important parts of the orchestra’s mission. LTSO musicians regularly work with student ensembles in Douglas County schools, providing coaching and mentorship to young musicians.
The orchestra also partners with the Douglas County Youth Orchestra, creating opportunities for young musicians to perform for audiences and attend professional-level concerts. These experiences help inspire students to continue their musical journeys while strengthening connections between youth ensembles and the broader arts community.
LTSO also supports Douglas County students through scholarships to attend the University of Denver Lamont School of Music Summer Academy, helping talented young musicians access advanced music education opportunities.

Music Throughout the Community
In addition to its concert season, the orchestra shares music in a variety of settings. Through the Mini-Symphony-To-Go program, small ensembles of LTSO musicians perform outreach concerts in venues such as community centers, cultural sites, and senior residences.
The orchestra also hosts Open Symphony, a summer program that invites local musicians to rehearse and perform alongside the orchestra. Registration for the two summer events will open in May 2026. Learn more about Mini-Symphony-To Go and Open Symphony at lonetreesymphony.org
