Financial Reports

The Finance Department produces reports that provide the City Council, City Manager, and City leadership with information needed to make informed decisions while ensuring transparency and accountability to taxpayers.  These reports provide a detailed look at the City’s financial health, operations, and how resources are allocated to provide services to the community.

We strive to provide timely, accurate and consistent financial data and reports, and to establish, implement and monitor Citywide accounting policies and procedures. These procedures are necessary for the preparation of multiple financial statements in accordance with City Charter requirements as well as generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR)

The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report provides in-depth information about the operations and financial position of the City of Lone Tree. The Annual Comprehensive Financial Report (ACFR) is prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States of America (USGAAP) and is audited by a firm of licensed certified public accountants.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) awarded a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to the City for its Annual Comprehensive Financial Report for the year ended December 31, 2024. The Certificate of Achievement is a national award recognizing conformance with the highest standards for preparation of state and local government financial reports. The City of Lone Tree has received the Certificate of Achievement award for 21 consecutive years.

Claims Report

Claims reports provide City Council and the public with transparency into the City’s financial obligations and spending practices. These reports serve as a monitoring tool to show that payments are appropriate, authorized, and aligned with the approved budget. They offer visibility into which vendors are paid and for what purpose. Claims reports strengthen financial oversight and ensure compliance with policies.

Purchasing Card Report

Purchasing card reports provide City Council and the public with transparency and oversight of day-to-day spending by City departments. These reports highlight how purchasing cards are being used, ensuring transactions comply with established policies and budget guidelines, and promote fiscal responsibility.

Treasurer's Reports

The City of Lone Tree publishes Treasurer’s Reports to serve as a key accountability and transparency tool for both City Council and the public. They provide a clear and timely picture of revenues, expenditures, and budget performance, supporting informed decision-making on policies, resource allocation, and long-term planning.
