Residents of Lone Tree receive water service from three different districts, depending on their location within the City. Due to ongoing drought conditions and unusually low snowpack levels, districts have implemented water guidelines or restrictions. Residents and businesses are encouraged to conserve water both indoors and outdoors and to comply with any restrictions in place throughout the spring and summer months.
The City does not impose or enforce watering restrictions. Please refer to the following water districts for regulations.

Southgate Water and Sanitation District (follows Denver Water restrictions)
Serving Properties West of I-25
Declared Stage 1 Drought, implementing mandatory water restrictions:
- Do not turn on automatic systems until at least mid-to-late May
- It is not necessary to water grass two days a week in April and the beginning of May.
- Occasional hand-watering may be necessary for trees and shrubs.
- This summer, customers in single-family residential properties may water no more than two days per week and must follow a set schedule:
- Addresses ending in even numbers: Sunday and Thursday.
- Addresses ending in odd numbers: Wednesday and Saturday.
- Multifamily properties, commercial properties, homeowners’ associations and government properties, may water only on Tuesdays and Fridays.

In addition, customers must follow Denver Water’s annual summer watering rules:
- Water only during cooler times of the day, between 6 p.m. and 10 a.m.
- Do not allow water to pool in gutters, streets and alleys.
- Do not waste water by letting it spray on concrete and asphalt.
- Repair leaking sprinkler systems within 10 days.
- Do not irrigate while it is raining or during high winds.
- Use a hose nozzle with a shut-off valve when washing your car.

Parker Water and Sanitation District
Serving Properties East of I-25
- Watering is prohibited between 10 am and 6 pm.
- Water waste is prohibited. Watch for runoff, overspray, and leaks. Report water waste to conservation@pwsd.org.
- Do not start watering until the beginning of May.
Alternating watering days based on address:
- Homes ending in an even number = Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday
- Homes ending in an odd number = Monday, Wednesday, Saturday
- Multi-family, HOAs, Commercial Properties = Monday, Wednesday, Saturday

Northern Douglas County Water and Sanitation District (follows Highlands Ranch Water restrictions)
Serving some homes in Terra Ridge along Indian Wells Drive
Declared Stage 1 Drought, implementing mandatory water restrictions:
- Limits outdoor irrigation to two days per week.
- No watering between 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. May 1 – Sept. 30.
- Wasteful watering practices are prohibited and may result in a fine. This includes allowing excess water to flow into street gutters or neglecting to repair leaks.
- Delay turning on your sprinkler systems until mid-May.
- Drip irrigation and hand-watering trees, shrubs, perennials and vegetable gardens is allowed any time if a hose is held and equipped with a shut-off device.
Two-day watering schedule based on property type and address:
- Single-family and small multi-family, (less than 7 units) residential with odd-numbered addresses
- Watering days: Wednesday & Saturday
- Single-family and small multi-family (less than 7 units) residential with even-numbered addresses
- Watering days: Thursday & Sunday
- Multi-family (7 or more units) and apartment properties
- Watering days: Monday & Friday
- Non-residential customers
- Watering days: Tuesday & Sunday
- Public-use properties (e.g., parks, schools, recreation areas)
- Watering allowed: Any day of the week
- Requirement: Reduce water use by 15–20% or more of their assigned water budget

Surface water from the South Platte River and groundwater from three deep bedrock aquifers beneath Highlands Ranch.
