Lone Tree Police Records
The Lone Tree Police Department is committed to transparency, professionalism, and timely service. Our Records Unit manages and maintains official police records, including accident reports and case reports. When requesting a copy of a report, this page will help guide you through the process.
Request Police Records
To request a police record/report, click here to fill out the form. The form must be downloaded to your computer and edited in Adobe Acrobat in order for the submit button to work.
If you are having trouble with the form electronically you may print the form out, fill it out by hand, and email a scanned copy to ltpdrecords@cityoflonetree.com along with a scan of your photo ID.
Complete all fields and sign electronically. When the form is complete, select the RED “Submit Form” box. Be sure to attach a copy of your photo ID to the e-mail in order to submit successfully. If you elect not to pay over the phone with a credit card, print the request form and include a check for payment along with a self-addressed/stamped envelope and mail to:

Availability of Police Reports:
Most police reports require an approval process that may take 3-5 business days. This included photographs, 911 recordings and body camera video.
Per Colorado State Statute, some reports, or certain information contained therein, are not available for public release. These include:
- At-risk adults
- Juveniles
- Sex Assaults
- Child Abuse
- Ongoing police investigation
If a case is currently being prosecuted by the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office, the report will need to be requested through the District Attorney’s office.
Traffic Accidents:
Most traffic accident reports can be released upon request a minimum of 3-5 business days after the accident, provided there were no injuries to any person involved. Injury-related accident requests require an approval process and may take up to five business days.

Police Records Privacy Policy
The Lone Tree Police Department is committed to the protection of individual privacy. Standards are in place that minimize the collection of personally identifiable information to the least amount of information required to complete a particular transaction; our policy applies to the collection of all personally identifiable information, regardless of the source or medium. The staff is familiar with the Colorado Open Records Act (CORA) and allow requested inspections of records as applicable in CORA.
