Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are in place in the City of Lone Tree as of Monday, June 29, 2026 until further notice.
Under Stage 1 Fire Restrictions, the following are not allowed:
Personal fireworks of any kind
The sale of fireworks
Outdoor welding or open-flame torch use in or near parks, greenbelts, open spaces and trails without a permit
Using equipment like chainsaws without a properly installed and maintained spark arresting device
Pest control equipment that relies on igniting flammable gases or liquids
Smokeless or safety flares used for gas combustion or to indicate danger to the public
The following are allowed:
Gas- or liquid-fueled grills, camp stoves and appliances
Charcoal grills in developed residential or commercial areas
Gas- or liquid-fueled portable outdoor fireplaces and recreational fires contained in permanent fire pits
Fireplaces and wood-burning stoves inside buildings
Tiki torches at single-family residences
Permitted professional fireworks displays
Even when an activity is allowed, please use extra caution: keep flames attended, fully extinguish fires, dispose of hot materials properly and avoid activities that could create sparks near dry vegetation.
Violations may result in a fine of up to $2,650 and/or up to one year in jail. The Lone Tree Police Department will be strictly enforcing any not allowed activities, including personal fireworks. They will be writing tickets, not just issuing warnings. If you see the use of personal fireworks in Lone Tree, please call the non-emergency number at 303-799-0533.
Stage 1 Fire Restrictions do not impact the fireworks show planned for the City of Lone Tree Party in the Park event on July 4. The current Stage 1 fire restrictions allow permitted public fireworks displays conducted by licensed professionals, and in coordination with the fire department. The City takes wildfire safety seriously, and public safety will continue to guide every decision we make leading up to and during the event. If conditions change, we will adjust our plans accordingly.
