A one-of-a-kind indoor/outdoor restaurant and entertainment venue — the first of its kind in Colorado — is set to transform the space into a regional hot spot.
The City of Lone Tree is excited to announce the City Council approved a purchase and sale agreement with TRUCK YARD in July to bring their one-of-a-kind indoor/ outdoor restaurant and entertainment concept to the City at 9070 Maximus Drive (former Treo site). The new destination development will provide a fun, yearround and vibrant gathering space, while supporting redevelopment of the Lone Tree Entertainment District, located at South Yosemite Street and Park Meadows Drive.
“Redevelopment of the City’s Entertainment District is a clear priority for the City, and we are fully committed to shaping a future there that reflects the energy, values, and vision of Lone Tree – a place with something for everyone, from high-end restaurants to neighborhood gathering places,” said Lone Tree Mayor Marissa Harmon. “During my visit to a Truck Yard location last fall, I saw firsthand the kind of vibrant atmosphere and unique experience it will bring to our community. It will be a truly special addition that enhances the revitalized vibrancy of our entertainment district.”
Truck Yard, a unique concept with a successful track record, was established in 2013 in Texas and has grown to include five locations across Texas and Oklahoma. It’s renowned for its lively, family-friendly atmosphere where guests, including pets, can unwind and enjoy delicious food, refreshing drinks, and free live music in a laid-back setting. Each location features large outdoor patios, yard games, and rotating food trucks that highlight local culinary talent. The company partners with local artists to design its unique décor and outdoor furniture, thoughtfully selected to suit each location, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the local economy and creative community.

Truck Yard restauranteur Jason Boso was the original founder and owner of Twisted Root Burger Co, one of the forerunners of the gourmet burger craze with multiple locations across the United States. In addition to Truck Yard, Boso also owns and operates Second Rodeo Brewing, a highly successful brewery and live music concept within the Fort Worth Stockyards, a renowned entertainment district success story.
“Selfishly, I want to start a business in Lone Tree just so I have more excuses to spend time here—I genuinely love it,” said Boso. “The scenery is incredible, the community is welcoming, and let’s be honest… I’ll probably be fly fishing almost as much as I’m working when I’m in town. It’s hard work, but someone’s got to do it. We always design our spaces to speak to the unique culture of each community and its surrounding scenery, and my team is already eagerly immersed in defining what that means for this site in Lone Tree.”
The City of Lone Tree and Truck Yard have agreed to a purchase and sale agreement that secures the property for the buyer while the agreement is in effect. However, the sale is not finalized until Truck Yard completes their inspections, survey, title review, and submits a Site Improvement Plan (SIP) to the City detailing their vision and plans for their site in Lone Tree (each location and its features may vary from other locations). The SIP plan will need approval from the City Council, including a chance for the public to provide input on the proposed project. The entire process is expected to take about six months.
In November 2023, the City of Lone Tree purchased the blighted 3.3-acre restaurant property at 9070 Maximus Drive in the Lone Tree Entertainment District to help move redevelopment forward. A Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued in early 2024 seeking offers to purchase and redevelop the property into the City’s vision of a restaurant, entertainment, and community gathering space. Multiple offers were received, including several offers that aligned with the City’s vision for the site. However, the City selected Truck Yard as the top choice due to its previous collaboration with the original property owner to purchase the property and its proven track record of successful developments, which gave the City confidence in the project’s long-term viability and sustainability.
To support revitalization efforts in the Entertainment District, the City plans to sell the property to Truck Yard for $2.2 million. While below the original $3.85 million purchase price the City paid for the property, the sale reflects a strategic investment to encourage substantial improvements by the new owner and advance the City’s vision to life for a vibrant Entertainment District. Further, the sales taxes generated by this development will allow the City to recoup its investment in a relatively short time frame.
