Travis Sneith
Commander, Professional Standards
Commander Travis Sneith has served in law enforcement for more than 22 years. He began his career as a patrol officer and gained experience in patrol, tactical operations, narcotics investigations, and criminal investigations before joining the Lone Tree Police Department as a lateral officer in 2010.
Since joining Lone Tree, Sneith has served in a variety of operational, investigative, and supervisory assignments. He was promoted to Corporal and, while serving in that role, received the department’s Trainer of the Year Award in 2015. He was later promoted to sergeant and served as both a patrol sergeant and detective sergeant. While supervising the Investigations Unit, he oversaw personnel assigned to financial crimes and regional high-impact-crimes task forces and led homicide investigations and other complex criminal cases.
After being promoted to lieutenant, Sneith supervised patrol operations, personnel, and led strategic enforcement initiatives. He was later promoted to commander, continuing a career focused on effective leadership, employee development, organizational improvement, and strong partnerships with the community and regional law enforcement agencies.
Commander Sneith has received multiple Letters of Commendation throughout his career, as well as two Life Saving Awards. He remains committed to providing professional, responsive, and high-quality police services to the City of Lone Tree.
Tim Beals
Commander, Professional Standards
Commander Tim Beals has over 25 years of law enforcement experience and has been with the Lone Tree Police Department since June of 2005. He previously served as a deputy for five years with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and worked both in the jail and on patrol. Since being at Lone Tree, Commander Beals has served as a patrol officer, detective, and a sergeant in both patrol and the professional standards unit. He has also been a field training officer, a driving instructor, and an arson investigator. Commander Beals has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in communications from Regis University in Denver. He is 2012 graduate of the Northwestern University Center of Public Safety School of Police Staff and Command. He has served as the patrol and operations commanders and is currently assigned as the professional standards commander.
Joe Deland
Commander, Operations
Commander Joe Deland began his law enforcement career with the City of Lone Tree in 2009 after graduating from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Criminal Justice. Throughout his tenure, he served in a wide range of operational and leadership roles, demonstrating a consistent commitment to professionalism, innovation, and community-focused policing.
Deland was promoted to corporal in 2013, where he received the department’s leadership award, followed by promotion to sergeant in 2015. As a sergeant, he supervised both patrol and investigations, overseeing complex cases, regional task force partnerships, and the department’s peer support program. In 2020, he was promoted to lieutenant and assigned to the patrol division, where he led day-to-day operations, served as the Douglas County Regional SWAT Team liaison, coordinated department fitness initiatives, and managed the firearms program.
Commander Deland holds a Master of Public Safety from the University of Virginia and is a graduate of the FBI National Academy as well as Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command. He has received several professional awards, including the City of Lone Tree Integrity Award in 2024. He is committed to community-oriented policing, employee wellness, and building strong partnerships across the City to ensure responsive, high-quality police service for the Lone Tree community.
Ron Pinson
Commander, Patrol
Commander Ron Pinson is a seasoned law enforcement professional with 37 years of distinguished service. He has been an integral part of the Lone Tree Police Department since 2006, bringing a wealth of experience and leadership to the agency. Throughout his tenure, he has served in every division of the department, demonstrating a deep understanding of operations and a commitment to excellence. He holds a master’s degree in public administration from the University of Colorado Denver, underscoring his dedication to professional development and public service. Commander Pinson is known for his collaborative leadership style and steadfast focus on community-oriented policing. His career reflects a lifelong commitment to safety, integrity, and building trust between law enforcement and the public.
