Lone Tree Entertainment District
A Hub for Food, Fun, and Connection
The Lone Tree Entertainment District is a key component of the City’s vision for a vibrant, destination-oriented economy. This evolving area is being reimagined as a lively hub where dining, entertainment, retail, and public gathering spaces come together to create activity and excitement in the heart of the community with regional visibility.
District History
During the 1990s, the district was originally planned as a major entertainment and sports hub, with concepts that included movie theaters, bowling, indoor recreation, themed restaurants, and other leisure uses. While some of these ideas were realized, others evolved or were never fully built, resulting in a district that developed organically over time.
Several long-standing attractions helped establish the area as an entertainment destination, including movie theaters, bowling, indoor recreation facilities, hotels, fitness centers, and a variety of restaurants and services. These uses continue to shape the district’s identity today.
Recognizing the opportunity to strengthen and unify the area, the City of Lone Tree has led multiple planning and visioning efforts to reposition the district. In the early 2010s, the City partnered with the Urban Land Institute (ULI) to evaluate redevelopment opportunities and establish a renewed vision focused on placemaking, walkability, and experience-driven uses.
In 2015, the Lone Tree Entertainment District Business Improvement District (BID) was formed to support maintenance, infrastructure improvements, and long-term investment. More recent initiatives, including targeted incentive programs and strategic property redevelopment, reflecting the City’s ongoing commitment to revitalizing the district.
Today, the Lone Tree Entertainment District is entering a new chapter – one focused on creating a vibrant, connected destination that supports residents, businesses, attracts visitors, and enhances quality of life for the community.
