2020 Census

2020 Census

The 2020 Census is accessible for everyone and beginning in mid-March, you can respond to the census by answering a handful of simple questions online, by phone, or by mail. The online questionnaire is accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities and we’re doing everything we can to ensure the ways to respond are accessible for everyone.

Responding to the census is important as a complete count helps ensure that over $675 billion are distributed to communities across the country for services including public transportation, Medicare, and educational programs. You can choose to respond online. The census website follows the latest web accessibility guidelines and is accessible for people of all abilities. You may also choose to respond by phone, which is available in English and in 12 additional languages. You can also respond in English by TDD at 844-467-2020. Responding is safe, easy and confidential. Your personal information is protected by law and your responses cannot be used against you. Your responses can only be used to produce statistics.

If you are unable to respond online, by phone, or by mail, you can respond in person beginning in May when census takers will begin visiting households that have not yet responded. Also, if you prefer, you can also choose to have another member of your household interact with the census taker.
