Building Division office hours are 7AM-4PM excluding holidays and weekends. All Building services, including payments and inspection requests, can be performed online in our 24/7 permitting portal.
Inspections are preformed on-site and in-person during office hours.

Permit applications are only accepted electronically through our portal. Please note that Plan Review fees are due at time of application submittal.
The City of Lone Tree requires a Business License if you are engaged in business in the City of Lone Tree. Our Finance Department does require anyone performing work in the City to apply for a Business License to ensure sales tax is not collected that should be remitted to the City.
For all parties included on a permit, a valid Business license is required before we can issue a permit.
The Lone Tree Building Division does not issue or require contractor licenses.
Residential replacement of windows, doors or siding does not require a permit unless you are changing the size of the opening. Like for like size replacements are exempt from permitting. For stucco, stone or brick replacement, a permit is needed to ensure the moisture barriers are correctly installed.
Commercial exterior alterations, including multi-family developments, require approval by the Planning Division. Please contact the Planning Division prior to making any such improvements at 720-509-1180 or visit their development review page for more information on a potential site improvement amendment.
Construction hours for exterior work:
7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday – Friday
8:00am – 6:00pm, Saturday, Sunday and State recognized Holidays
Interior construction hours are 7:00am – 9:00pm
Noise complaints are handled by the Lone Tree Police Department and offences are subject to ticketing.
Sanitary facilities and approved trash enclosures shall be located within three hundred (300) feet of the building site with measures to control the litter and trash, to prevent the wind from carrying it onto neighboring properties.
Sanitary facilities and trash enclosures shall not be located within the public right-of-way without the approval of the Public Works Department. You can apply for a Right-of-Way permit if you need to place items in the public right-of-way.
Placement of temporary sanitary facilities and trash enclosures outside the public right-of-way will need a temporary use permit unless already included within the scope of the of an issued building permit.
Permeant placement of sanitation facilities and trash enclosures will require a building permit and most likely a site improvement amendment. For more information, please visit the development review page for more information.
