In N Out

Months of diligent planning, public outreach and meetings with adjacent businesses positioned the City to help In-N-Out successfully open its third Colorado location in Lone Tree on Feb. 22 with minimal impact to surrounding businesses and wait times of less than an hour.

“Advanced planning and collaboration were the keys to a successful grand opening of the Lone Tree In-N-Out, said Mayor Jackie Millet. “They are a wonderful addition to our business community, and I’m sure everyone who had been craving their burgers is excited to have them nearby!”

To help keep traffic flowing and prevent the blocking of entrances to neighboring businesses, the City worked with In-N-Out to set up an off-site queuing location at 8585 S. Yosemite St. (former Sears location). In addition to that, In-N-Out paid for several off-duty officers to help further assist with traffic control.

“We were fortunate enough to visit the opening day at In-N-Out, and we could not be more impressed with the entire process from start to end,” said Marissa Harmon, Lone Tree resident and owner of Roots & Mane. “Everyone working traffic had a smile on their face while directing us through the well-thought-out queue.”

Prior to their grand opening, the City hosted various public meetings with adjacent property owners to seek their input and required that In-N-Out meet several criteria in order for their traffic plans to be approved.

“Even now that they’re open, we will continue to monitor traffic in that area,” said Lone Tree Director of Public Works and Mobility. “We anticipate keeping the off-site queuing location intact for a few more days and reassessing then.”

In-N-Out, which is located at 9171 Westview Road, is a 3,867-sf restaurant with a drive-thru designed for up to 26 vehicles on site.
