A light breeze on a warm Friday morning set the stage for Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet as she celebrated with guests the successful completion of a key project in the City – the expansion of RidgeGate Parkway.

What once used to be a two-lane road is now a 6-lane road that connects Lone Tree to Parker and allows for smoother travel between municipalities. The project completes the vision for the corridor’s full build out, which began with the opening of the RidgeGate Parkway and I-25 Interchange in 2009.

“The expansion of this significant arterial isn’t only important to Lone Tree, but to our region. Collaboration and partnerships to proactively build key transportation infrastructure have been instrumental to the City’s success,” said Millet. “And we wouldn’t have been able to complete this project without the support of our tremendous partners.”

The funding partners of this project included CDOT, Douglas County, Southeast Public Improvement District (SPIMD) and Rampart Range Metropolitan District.

The expansion of RidgeGate Parkway, which was completed on time and within budget, features six lanes, raised medians, left turn lanes at signalized intersections, a separated cycle track, and an 8-foot sidewalk.

Construction began in 2019 and continued through the pandemic in 2020 allowing for the project to be completed on time.
