open space

Last month Rampart Range Metro District and RidgeGate Investments, Inc., transferred approximately 374 acres of open space and 18 acres of developed parks – the largest property transfer in the City’s history – for only $25 in honor of Lone Trees 25th anniversary.

“Access to recreational amenities and open space are top priorities for our residents,” said Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet. “And what better way to celebrate the City’s 25th anniversary than with the unprecedented acquisition of this extensive open space and park land for our community to enjoy for generations to come!”

The property was transferred in an effort to give the City of Lone Tree the ability to further protect and preserve current recreational amenities and create future enhancements.

“These parks and open spaces have been a key part of RidgeGate’s vision to connect people with nature and they have proven to be quite important to community life and resiliency during the pandemic,” said Keith Simon, President of Rampart Range Metropolitan District and Executive Vice President of Coventry Development Corporation, RidgeGate’s Master Developer. “And now it makes total sense for them to be owned and controlled by the people and city that they serve.”

The property transfer includes Lincoln Commons Park, Don Bounds Park, Promenade Park, Belvedere Park and RidgeGate/Cossington Open Space. Click here to see photos.

The City has partnered with South Suburban Park and Recreation District to operate and maintain the properties and with Rampart Range Metro District to maintain key infrastructure needed for surrounding development, including drainage structures, detention ponds, and retaining walls.
