RidgeGate East

The City of Lone Tree continues to execute on the community vision approved by residents in the 1999 vote to annex the 3,500-acre RidgeGate property. On Tuesday, Dec. 15, City Council unanimously approved the Southwest Village Preliminary Plan, setting the stage for the first large-scale residential community on the east side of I-25 in Lone Tree. Shea Homes is the master developer, and the development includes approximately 700 acres and located east of South Havana Street and south of RidgeGate Parkway.

Over the last 20 years, the City has invested in infrastructure and regional projects to support growth on the east side such as the widening of I-25, the light rail extension and the construction and expansion of RidgeGate Parkway.

“The diversity of housing offered, increased recreation opportunities and the connectivity of the development will enhance the character and quality of our City,” said Mayor Jackie Millet.

The preliminary plan includes up to 2,100 dwelling units consisting of a mix of for-sale condominiums, townhomes and single-family homes. In addition, it will feature almost 30 acres of neighborhood parks, an 80-acre regional park and miles of trails connecting to the Douglas County East/West Trail and Rueter-Hess Reservoir trail system, including their new incline challenge hill.

“The expanded park amenities and trail systems that this project brings to our community, increases the desirability of Lone Tree and enhances our live, work, play reputation,” said Millet. “And we’re very grateful to be working with Shea Homes, a high quality, reputable builder with a strong record of success in our region.”

The community will be constructed in five phases over the next several years beginning in 2021.
