It is with great sadness that the City of Lone Tree shares that Harold Anderson, former Lone Tree City Council Member, passed away on Monday, May 25.

Harold was an integral part of the founding generation of the City of Lone Tree. He helped the campaign to incorporate the City in 1995, served for many years on the City’s Arts Commission in the early 2000’s, and then for eight distinguished years on the Lone Tree City Council from 2008-2016.

As a tireless advocate for the Arts, Harold was instrumental in the commissioning and placement of many of the unique pieces of public art that contribute so beautifully to the character of Lone Tree. In 2008, he was one of a small group of arts advocates that led the successful campaign that funded the construction of the Lone Tree Arts Center.

He and his wife, Ada, continued their support thereafter and rank among the most generous benefactors to the arts in Lone Tree. In fact, in 2019, the Andersons purchased “Mountain Spell”, the beautiful white sculpture that welcomes you at the entrance of the Arts Center from award-winning sculptor Harold Linke and then generously donated it to the City.

“Harold’s passion, commitment, and contributions to the City of Lone Tree were significant and lasting. While he may be best remembered for his support of the Lone Tree Arts Center,” said Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet. “He was also a key leader in building the foundation for Lone Tree’s very bright future.”

Harold will be buried at a private service this weekend in Breckenridge. A larger memorial service will take place in the Denver Metro area at a date to be announced.
