On the main stage of the beautiful Lone Tree Arts Center, Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet welcomed guests and neighbors to the 2022 State of the City event, the first such event the city has held since 2019.
“What have you been up to since we last got together for this?” Mayor Millet joked. “Gained and hopefully lost pandemic pounds? Re-learned seventh grade math? Spent time staring at a lot of folks in little boxes on a screen?”
Through the laughter in the theater, it was clear just how great it was to come together again and celebrate the amazing things the City and our local businesses have accomplished in recent years.
The morning also served as an opportunity to honor Council Member Jay Carpenter, who will complete six years of service on City Council on Tuesday, May 17. Mayor Millet presented Council Member Carpenter with a football signed by Philadelphia Eagles linebacker and City of Lone Tree resident Jack Stoll. The Eagles are Carpenter’s favorite team (we won’t hold it against him here in Broncos County).
Over the course of the morning, Mayor Millet commented on the financial health and stability of the City, thanked local healthcare partners at Sky Ridge Medical Center and Kaiser Permanente, shared her appreciation with the community for their support of 2E and the Lone Tree Police Department, and highlighted several local business that have opened or located in Lone Tree since the last State of the City Address.
The Event ended with a look at future development on the East side of Lone Tree, including new housing, new retail, and the announcement that STAR HARBOR has chosen Lone Tree as the location for their exciting new campus.
The city of Lone Tree would like to thank our sponsors for making the event possible: Sky Ridge Medical Center, Cranelli’s Italian Restaurant, Ridgegate, and Vectra Bank. The City would also like to share our appreciation for The South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce for serving as event partners.
And lastly, thank you to everyone who attended the event. Proceeds from the event are being donated to the State of the City’s non-profit partner, Tall Tales Ranch, who will be joining the Lone Tree neighborhood in the near future.
