The 2008 bonds funded the Lone Tree Arts Center, Cook Creek Pool, and Tennis Courts
The City of Lone Tree sales and use tax will decrease from 2.8125% to 2.5% beginning December 1, 2023. This reduction is the result of the City successfully paying off its arts and cultural facilities bonds and parks and recreation improvement bonds.
The bonds, approved by Lone Tree residents by a vote in 2008, played a pivotal role in the development of key community assets like the Lone Tree Arts Center, Cook Creek Pool, and the Tennis Courts near Sweetwater Park.
“We are very grateful to the 2008 voters for authorizing the construction of these amazing facilities,” says Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet. “With the final bond payment made, we have fulfilled a promise made to those residents 15 years ago to reduce the City sales tax. These incredible recreational and cultural amenities will continue to be enjoyed by the Lone Tree community for years to come.”
The tax decrease comes at a great time for Colorado shoppers, who can now enjoy even greater savings while supporting Lone Tree businesses such as Park Meadows Retail Resort, Nordstrom, L.L.Bean, Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Cabela’s, and Barnes and Noble this December.
“Santa is delivering the gift of additional savings this holiday season,” adds Millet. “Shoppers can now enjoy spending a little less while supporting our local businesses thanks to the City reaching this financial milestone!”
