City of Lone Tree has Purchased 9070 Maximus Drive

The City of Lone Tree has completed the purchase of the long-vacant Treo property at 9070 Maximus Drive. This property has been a source of concern for Lone Tree residents since 2009.

Originally built as a Bahama Breeze Island Grill in 2001, the property has changed hands multiple times and last operated as “Treõ at Lone Tree” more than a decade ago. Despite several potential buyers throughout the years, the property remained vacant and in a declining state.

City staff had invested significant time in addressing issues at the site over the years, including code violations and vandalism. Additionally, the City identified blight conditions, making the reformation of the property a priority.

After much deliberation by Lone Tree City Council and staff, the City purchased the property for $3.85 million and will now prepare it for redevelopment. Staff is developing a Request for Proposals to attract a fitting restaurant or entertainment user for the site.

These efforts are aimed at revitalizing the area, contributing to the local economy, and eliminating blight, which aligns with the City’s vision for the Entertainment District. By taking these steps, the City hopes to offer a fresh start for the property and enhance the Lone Tree community.
