The community gathers for a group photo in front of the building at 9070 Maximus Drive during a demolition kickoff event.

New Year, New Look!

On a cool crisp winter morning in late December, the community came together to celebrate the beginning of demolition work at 9070 Maximus Drive with an excavator, sledgehammers, and hotdogs. You’ve never seen a gift be unwrapped quite like this before!

Just two days after Christmas, more than forty members of the community turned up to watch the former Treõ building come down. Attendees enjoyed coffee, hot chocolate, and “demo dogs” to keep warm while watching Lone Tree City Council take the first swing at the building.

“Our first and hopefully our last demo day,” joked Lone Tree Mayor Jackie Millet in her remarks to event attendees, signaling the rarity and importance of the day’s event.

“It’s unusual for the City to acquire a property and repurpose it for something new,” said City of Lone Tree Director of Economic Development and Public Affairs Jeff Holwell. “We’ve been working on finding a new use for this site [for] 10 years.

“We are excited to accelerate the redevelopment of this site into a use that is going to be enjoyed by all residents of the City.”

The City thanks everyone who attended the event and encourages the community to follow along in the process of redeveloping this key property by visiting cityoflonetree.com/9070-maximus-drive.
