MEETING INFORMATION
The City Council meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of each month unless otherwise posted. Meetings take place at the Lone Tree Civic Center located at 8527 Lone Tree Parkway.
At 4:00 pm the Council will hold a Study Session where the Council receives presentations from staff or invited guests on various topics. Study Sessions are meant to be a more informal setting where the Council can learn and discuss community topics or proposals by staff before they are brought to a formal Council Meeting for action. Study Session items may also be solely informative. The Council never takes formal action or votes during Study Sessions. The public is welcome to attend Study Sessions, however, there is no public comment.
At 6:00 pm the Council may hold an Executive Session. These are meetings where only the City Council, the City Attorney, and select City Staff attend. Colorado open meeting laws restrict what topics the City Council may hold an executive session to discuss. The City Attorney will announce the reason for the Executive Session to the public at the end of the Study Session.
At 7:00 pm is the start of the Council’s Regular Session. This is the meeting where Council votes on formal actions and hears public comment. Comments from the public are welcome at three different occasions during the course of the meeting:
- Brief comments on items not scheduled on the Agenda will be heard under the Public Comment agenda item at the beginning of the meeting for a maximum of 30 minutes
- Pertinent comments on all scheduled public hearing items will be heard following the presentation by staff and only after the Mayor opens the floor to public comment for that particular agenda item.
- Upon invitation of the Mayor at the discretion of Council.
To arrange accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act at public meetings, please contact the City Clerk by calling 303-708-1818 at least 48 hours prior to the meeting that you wish to attend.
