Living & Aging Well Commission
The Living Well and Aging Well Commission sponsors a number of programs each month for seniors in the community. The group has been meeting since January 2012 to explore issues related to the area’s aging population.
Vision
The Living and Aging Well Commission envisions our city as a senior-friendly community where residents have the opportunity to age with choice, independence, and dignity.
Mission
We are committed to creating opportunities for residents to remain independent and active by:
- Identifying and advocating for issues and concerns
- Linking with existing social, health, financial and support agencies
- Providing avenues for social interaction
- Supporting educational opportunities
Living & Aging Well Monthly Luncheons
Enjoy lunch, meet local seniors, and discover something new with different entertainment at each luncheon!
When: Second Monday of Each Month, beginning at 11:30 a.m.
Where: Lone Tree Golf Club and Hotel (9808 Sunningdale Blvd, Lone Tree, CO 80124)
Cost: $16 per person, which includes a beverage, lunch, and tip. Registration required.
Payments for the monthly luncheons must be made in advance through the online form. Credit cards, debit cards, and e-checks are accepted payment types through the online reservation system.
Reservations & Cancellations
Lunch reservations through the online payment system will be accepted until 6 p.m. on the Monday one week prior to the event. Cancellations will be accepted and fully refunded until 6 p.m. on the Monday one week prior to the event. Cancellations after this time or “no shows” will not be refunded.

First Wednesday of every month!
Join the Living and Aging Well Commission for the monthly Cocktails & Conversations happy hour! Make new friends and connect with ‘old’ ones, while enjoying dinner and your favorite cocktails.
Where: Sonoma’z Grill (Marriott Denver South), 10345 Park Meadows Drive
When: 4:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m., first Wednesday of each month
Sonoma’z Grill will provide separate checks.

Douglas County has the fastest growing senior population in the state and ranks among the top 20 in the United States. With the unique issues facing the aging population, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) has devoted resources to protecting older adults, including the appointment of a “Senior Liaison” position to coordinate senior education, programs, and resources.

Apply to be on a Commission, Board or Committee
From now until December 1, we are accepting applications for 2025 appointments to all CBCs. Applications are collected annually and are kept on file for one year to fill any vacancies that may arise during that period. When a vacancy occurs, City Council will review the applications and invite selected individuals for interviews. Applications submitted when there are no openings will be considered when an opening occurs.
