During the Lone Tree City Council regular meeting on May 19, which was held virtually due to COVID-19, three incumbents were sworn in to serve on City Council.
Lone Tree City Clerk Jay Robb administered the Oath of Office to Jackie Millet who started her second four-year term as Mayor.
“It is truly an honor to continue my service as Mayor of our incredible City,” said Mayor Millet. “I could not ask for better partners on City Council or a more talented staff to work with as we position Lone Tree to rebound and recover from the COVID-19 pandemic.”
Mayor Millet then administered the Oath of Office to incumbents Wynne Shaw and Cathie Brunnick for District 1 and 2, respectively.
“I am honored to be part of the capable team of council members and staff who will serve our City over the next four years. It is important to me that our City remains attractive to residents, businesses and visitors this year, and for years to come,” said Council Member Shaw. “Lone Tree is a world-class, forward-thinking city and our future is bright!”
Millet, Shaw and Brunnick are each serving their second, four-year terms.
“I am honored and blessed to serve the citizens of Lone Tree for another four years,” said Council Member Brunnick. “I look forward to working with the rest of Council to continue our efforts to make Lone Tree a national model.”
During this meeting, Brunnick was also elected to serve as Mayor Pro Tem.
The City of Lone Tree Municipal Election, initially slated for May 5, 2020, was canceled and Millet, Brunnick and Shaw were re-elected for a second term. The election could be canceled as there was only one candidate per office and there were no other election matters for Lone Tree voters to decide on by close of business on the 64th day before the election, which was March 2, 2020.
