Hello Lone Tree,
As you are already aware, last week Gov. Polis issued a Statewide mask order requiring anyone over the age of 10 to wear a face covering when entering and moving within any public indoor space and while using or waiting to use public/non-personal transportation services. This order went into effect at midnight on July 16 and will be in effect for 30 days unless extended.
Please know that as the Lone Tree Police Department, we are authorized to enforce this order. However, we hope that through an ‘education first’ strategy, we will have voluntary cooperation so that enforcement is not necessary.
We understand this is a challenging time for everyone in our community as we continue to adapt to a new normal, but we believe that if we continue to work together, we will overcome this. By wearing a face covering, we protect not only ourselves but those around us so we can continue working toward the normal we all aspire to.
Thank you for your continued support!

Hello Lone Tree,
As you may have already heard, today the Tri-County Health Department decided to rescind its local level Stay at Home Order and formally adopt the state’s Order, which was issued by Gov. Polis yesterday to be effective Thursday, March 26 through Saturday, April 11. This action was taken to ensure social distancing requirements are consistent across the state, and that our communities are not confused by multiple Orders. For a complete list of permissible and non-permissible actions under this order, visit cityoflonetree.com/stayhome.
Please know that as the Lone Tree Police Department, we are authorized to enforce this order, but I am very optimistic that enforcement will not be necessary as we hope to obtain voluntary cooperation through an ‘education first’ strategy.
If there are instances where complaints are received, we will respond but hope that by simply educating individuals on what is permissible and what is not will suffice to get their cooperation. It is not our intent to spend our time and resources looking for groups of people or to stop people driving from home to other locations as we want to ensure our officers can continue focusing on patrolling and public safety.
We understand this is a very difficult time for everyone in our community as we adapt to a new normal, but we hope we can count on each one of you to stay safer at home and help flatten the curve so one day we can return to the normal we all aspire to.
Thank you for your continued support!

Dear Lone Tree Residents,
We understand how stressful this time of uncertainty may be for each one of us. I would like to take this opportunity to emphasize the importance of taking care of each other and the critical role we all play in our community.
If you know of anyone that could use assistance, we encourage you to support those individuals by checking in on them to see if they need any medications, food and/or medical supplies, or simply have a conversation with them to help ease their concerns. Simple acts of kindness can make all the difference.
If you know any Lone Tree resident that would like the Police Department to check in on them, please contact Officer Ted Bathauer at 720-509- 1180 or email ted.bathauer@cityoflonetree.com.
We also urge you to share the following resources with any senior citizens or families in need.

Lastly, during this time of crisis and always, I would like to remind each of you to be patient, kind and helpful to each other.
Stay safe,
